ERGPA runs regular educational events and training for GPs, Practice Nurses, Practice Staff, Pharmacists, Aged Care Facility Staff and Allied Health Professionals.

    GP Mental Health Clinical Attachment
    Wantirna Health, Wantirna South

    Expressions of interest are invited for participation in a supervised clinical attachment comprising three evening forum / education sessions which will provide GP’s with an expert forum to discuss cases and enhance knowledge with Eastern Health staff followed by a four hour clinical attachment to observe assessments and hospital procedures.

    40 category 1 RACGP points are available and GP’s will be remunerated for their time.

    YOUNG MINDS - Level 1 Mental Health Skills Training
    ERGPA Training Room, Croydon

    Young Minds focuses on the identification, diagnosis and treatment of high prevalence mental health disorders occurring in young people between the ages of 12 and 24, including;
    • Clinical information and practice guidelines on the epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment and management of common mental health problems experienced by young people;
    • Outcome measures commonly used in the diagnosis of these disorders;
    • Treatment guidelines and fact sheets for primary care professionals;
    • Information about how to develop a ‘young friendly’ practice;
    • Resources and support material to support patient psycho-education.

    GPV EVENT: Orientation for Nurses to General Practice

    This ‘new’ 2 day workshop will support those nurses who have been working in a medical practice up to 12 months, and are new to the nurse’s role in the general practice setting. Quite often, nurses previously working in different areas such as the acute setting, are not always competent and confident in the duties, knowledge of care required of the role of practice nurse.
