GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) notified the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) of a manufacturing quality issue concerning the rotavirus vaccine Rotarix.

New Indigenous Health PIP guidelines released

As part of the Australian Government’s commitment to Closing the Gap, a new Practice Incentive Payment (PIP) Indigenous Health Incentive will be introduced from 1 May 2010. The PIP aims to support general practices and Aboriginal Medical Services to provide best practice chronic disease management to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients.

Changes to Primary Health Care MBS Items

A number of changes will be introduced to the general attendance items, health assessment, chronic disease management and after hours items in the May 2010 Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) update.
