Flood Update & Accreditation issues - AGPAL and GPA messages

General practices that have been required to relocate to other premises or those which have been affected in any way by the flooding. AGPAL is able to provide ‘deemed accreditation’ – which will enable the practice to retain access to Medicare’s Practice Incentive Payment (PIP) scheme – while also allowing the practice to defer their survey visit for a period up to 12 months.

New GP Reports for the TAC and WorkSafe Victoria

The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and Worksafe Victoria have introduced ‘Treating Health Practitioner Reports’ to assist GPs treating TAC clients and injured workers to follow more streamlined processes.

The Practice Incentives Program has amended its registration forms for new GP applications (Part G application).

RACGP to insist on height-adjustable beds

The RACGP is standing firm in its requirement that all practices have a height adjustable bed in its next release of Standards for general practices.

Nurse Practitioner Scholarships 2010-2011

A Victorian Nurse Practitioner Project (VNPP) Scholarship round will open in late October 2010 for nurses undertaking courses in 2011 that lead to endorsement as a NP.

The Royal College of Nursing Australia has been appointed administrator of nursing scholarships under the Department of Health and Ageing NAHSSS program.
