Egg allergy and Priorix® vaccine
An egg allergy is not a contraindication to Priorix® vaccine administration.
Please note the following extract from The Australian Immunisation Handbook, 9th Edition, 2008, page 207: 'Children with egg allergy, even anaphylactic egg allergy, can be safely given MMR or MMRV vaccine.' Priorix® vaccine can be safely administered in the general practice and community venue settings.
Following administration of any vaccine a person should be observed for at least 15 minutes.
