ERGPA Mental Health Program
The Mental health Program has appointed a new manager – Mr. Craig Maloney who is a mental health Nurse with 25+ years experience in Mental health Nursing, he holds a masters degree in mental health, Acceptance commitment therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, his specialties include, Addiction medicine, Child & Adolescent Mental health and managing Borderline personality disorders, Suicide Intervention and management.
Craig is also available to provide expert secondary consultation to General practitioners, simply as picking up the phone and giving him a call
Craig would like to introduce his team of experienced mental health Nurses and how they can value add to your practice and form that clinical partnership.
The MHNIP is funded by medicare for Nurses to provide Case management, Counseling, support and education to clients and their family members.
How can they help your practice? & patients?
- Medication management & Support
- Information on physical healthcare to patients,
- medication management and monitoring,
- provision of health promotion information,
- undertaking home visits,
- integrated clinical services from GPs
- Improving patient links to other health professionals and clinical service providers.
Types of Diagnosis they can work with, but are not limited to:
- Borderline personality disorders.
- Chronic depression & Affective disorders.
- Anxiety related .
- Grief & Loss.
- Psychotic disorders that don't require hospitalization.
- Reactive disorders.
- Post traumatic Disorders.
- Addictive management/ mental health related disorders.
- Self harming /Suicide Intervention.
- Secondary Consultations to general practitioners and members of Multi disciplinary team.
Exclusion criteria:
- They can qualify for a mental health care plan under ATAPS
- Engaged with a public mental health service.
