Flood Update & Accreditation issues - AGPAL and GPA messages

General practices that have been required to relocate to other premises or those which have been affected in any way by the flooding. AGPAL is able to provide ‘deemed accreditation’ – which will enable the practice to retain access to Medicare’s Practice Incentive Payment (PIP) scheme – while also allowing the practice to defer their survey visit for a period up to 12 months.

AGPAL recognises the coming year will be particularly challenging for all those practices affected by the floods and is able to assist general practices undergoing accreditation via its Exceptional Circumstances Policy, which is supported by DoHA. This policy applies to general practices that have been required to relocate to other premises or those which have been affected in any way by the flooding. AGPAL is able to provide 'deemed accreditation' - which will enable the practice to retain access to Medicare's Practice Incentive Payment (PIP) scheme - while also allowing the practice to defer their survey visit for a period up to 12 months. GPA - GPA continues to maintain a flexible and supportive approach and encourages any practices with concerns to contact our office on free call 1800 188 088 to discuss tailoring the program to suit their individual needs. We are granting a 3 month extension to any practice affected, however if further is needed to maintain PIP, GPA shall work with those practices to ensure their PIP eligibility is maintained.
