Have you taught medical students this triennium?
Why not put your hard work to task and earn Category 1 points at the same time! This can be done via the Individual Active Learning Module (ALM) for Teaching Medical Students. Behind the process of educating others, you can’t help but improve your own knowledge and skills. There’s an old quote that goes ‘teaching is useless unless you can learn from your students.’
The ALM enables individual GPs to improve aspects of their teaching and submit for Category 1 point allocation towards their continuing professional development. The Individual ALM asks individuals to outline their learning needs, the study program undertaken to meet those needs, evaluate whether personal objectives were met and reflect on future training needs.
The Teaching Medical Students Individual ALM template can be found on the RACGP website: www.racgp.org.au/qacpd/20082010triennium/gpforms .
Individual ALMs are allocated 40 Category 1 points in the QA&CPD Program.
