Indigenous Health Incentive PIP
The new Indigenous Health Incentive PIP was announced by Minister Snowdon yesterday afternoon and will commence in May 2010.
The PIP includes: a sign-on payment, payable when practices meet specified criteria; a payment linked to registration of eligible Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients with the practice; and an outcomes payment linked to services provided to registered patients.
Medicare Australia will write to all PIP practices in the next few weeks to advise them of the new incentive requirements and information should also be available via the Medicare Australia website in the near future.
