New GP Reports for the TAC and WorkSafe Victoria
The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and Worksafe Victoria have introduced ‘Treating Health Practitioner Reports’ to assist GPs treating TAC clients and injured workers to follow more streamlined processes.
The new reports were structured around consultation from June 2010 with the medical industry about the challenges GPs face when using the existing reporting processes. The changes will reduce the time taken to complete the reports and increase consistencies in the type of information being requested from GPs. Feedback received assisted with developing the following report structure: • Short Report (up to 3 questions) paid at $64.40 inc gst • Standard Report (4-6 questions) paid at $161.00 inc gst • Comprehensive Report (7-10 questions) paid at $321.95 inc gst GP reports are imperative to the claims management process. The reports assist in determining the reasonableness of the specified treatment and provide valuable information about a TAC client or injured worker's injury or illness.
