Seasonal influenza vaccine in 2010
The seasonal influenza vaccine for 2010 contains the pandemic H1N1 2009 influenza strain.
People who can receive free seasonal influenza vaccine annually from 2010 are:
- 65 years of age and over
- Pregnant women
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders aged15 years of age and over
- Residents of nursing homes and other long-term care facilities
- Children 6 months of age and over with a condition predisposing to severe influenza illness such as:
o Cardiac disease - Chronic illness requiring regular medical follow-up or hospitalisation
o Chronic respiratory disease - Impaired immunity
o Chronic neuromuscular disease
