Support Dr Lachlan Fraser’s Marysville Marathon
The Marysville Marathon Festival, organised by Dr Lachlan Fraser, is an opportunity to participate with the Marysville Community in a walk, fun-run or marathon to help raise money for vital community services in Marysville.
The beautiful town of Marysville was all but destroyed during the Black Saturday bushfires of February 7th 2009. Tragically, 34 lives were lost and over 400 homes and other buildings were destroyed. Former residents are trying to rebuild their lives and homes, finding it difficult to also give time to rebuilding their shattered community.
This is where we can all help, by participating in the Marysville Marathon Festival, an event designed to regenerate the community and town pride. For more than a century many visitors have relaxed and enjoyed our region, and we welcome you to take part in its recovery and have fun.
The Festival offers challenges to all fitness levels, with marathon, half-marathon, 10 kilometre and 3 kilometre events. The shorter events also welcome walkers and are ideal for those who want to show their support for the town amongst others who feel the same. We still need volunteers and sponsors and most of all YOU to partake and make the day succeed and become an annual iconic event.
The fun and festivities are happening on Sunday November 8th. More information and Entry details can be found at www.marysvillemarathon.com.au
