After Hours GP Clinic: Eastern Ranges After Hours Medical Service (ERAHMS)

The Eastern Ranges GP Association (ERGPA) operates After Hours Medical Services in Healesville, Yarra Junction and Upper Ferntree Gully (co-located with Angliss Hospital). The Eastern Ranges After Hours Medical Services are open to the general public needing to see a doctor for urgent medical matters that cannot wait until the next day.

Eastern Ranges After Hours Medical Service (ERAHMS)

The Clinics are open weeknights, weekends and public holidays. The Clinics offer the complete range of general practice care, and specialise in emergency and acute care. We cater for:

Injuries (minor cuts, wounds, muscle, joint)
Men’s health
Women’s health
Family medicine
Chronic disease
Mental health
Respiratory infections and seasonal illnesses
Oral Health
Immunisations
Almost any type of general medical care you require. Children are especially welcome!

The Clinics bulk-bill all patients who hold a current pension or health care card. All other patients including overseas visitors are privately billed with an out of pocket expense of $30 and payment is required at the time of consultation.

What you need to know:
The doctors at the clinic DO NOT prescribe or stock OPIATES or BENZODIAZEPINES under any circumstances. If you need those medications you need to see your own GP or be seen at a hospital Emergency Department.

Our GPs:
Our GPs are qualified, experienced doctors who know the local areas and communities. We can see you on the same day you need to be treated, there’s no 2 -day or 2 week waiting time with our GPs, and no closed books. We can take care of all your ongoing health needs.

How do I pay?

Our Clinic bulk-bills all patients under the age of 16, people who hold a current pension or healthcare card.
Consultations are charged at standard Medicare rate, and you need to pay this fee at the time of your visit.
If you have a Medicare card, you can claim your Medicare rebate at the time you pay your consultation fee.
There is a nominal gap fee (the difference between the consultation fee and the Medicare rebate) for non-bulk-billed consultations.
Facilities are available for workers compensation, motor vehicle claims and Veteran Affairs claims.

Your medical information:
If you have a regular GP, information about your consultation and copies of any test results will be sent back to them. It is important for your regular GP to know your complete medical history to make sure you are getting proper follow-up care. Your health records are not given to any other party without your consent, unless:

You are at risk of harm without treatment and you are unable to give consent;
Your doctor is legally obliged to disclose the information;
The information is necessary to obtain Medicare benefits; or
There is an overriding public health and safety interest in disclosing the information.
